Three ready short sessions, and rules that make 20 minutes enough.

Lack of time is the most common excuse, and sometimes a true one, but it is not a barrier. Reviews of the research suggest that short, well-designed programmes can give good strength and muscle gains. The trick is to make every minute count.
Sihha Fit is an Islamic fitness app. It builds workouts around your goal and equipment, makes halal meal plans, scans your food from a photo, tracks your progress, and has a Ramadan mode for suhoor and iftar. It is free to start, in English and Arabic.
A review of time-efficient training suggests that fewer sets at high effort, compound exercises that move several muscles, shorter rests and sometimes pairing two exercises (supersets) allow good gains in a short time. The World Health Organization recommends muscle-strengthening activity on at least two days a week, so a little done regularly beats a lot done sporadically.
| Time | Session |
|---|---|
| 15 minutes | 3 rounds with no rest between exercises and one minute between rounds: 10 squats, 8 push-ups, 10 rows (dumbbell or under a table). |
| 20 minutes | Two supersets: 3 sets of squats + rows, then 3 sets of push-ups + lunges. Rest 60 seconds between pairs. |
| 30 minutes | Full-body: squat, chest press, row, shoulder press, Romanian deadlift, plank, two to three sets each. |
For the full plan these come from, see the beginner gym workout plan or training at home.
Short sessions suit fasting very well. See the Ramadan workout plan.
For a beginner, yes, if the session is well designed, done with real effort and done regularly. Progress may be slower than with longer sessions.
Three regular, slightly longer sessions are better. But if ten minutes is what you can manage, it beats stopping.
Do not make it up by doubling the next day. Carry on from your next scheduled session.
