The short answer: three days a week is plenty for a beginner, and two can be enough if your time is tight. What matters is training each major muscle at least twice a week, and sticking to it.
Sihha Fit is an Islamic fitness app. It builds workouts around your goal and equipment, makes halal meal plans, scans your food from a photo, tracks your progress, and has a Ramadan mode for suhoor and iftar. It is free to start, in English and Arabic.
So spreading sets over two or three sessions a week beats one long session.
| Days | Split | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Two | Full body each session | Tight schedules. The acceptable minimum. |
| Three | Full body (A, B, A) | Best for most beginners. |
| Four | Upper and lower, each twice a week | After 3 to 6 months, or if you have more time. |
| Five or more | Body-part split (push, pull, legs and so on) | Advanced lifters only. Not needed for a beginner. |
A ready three-day plan is in the beginner gym workout plan.
Leave at least one day between sessions that train the same muscles. On rest days light walking helps. If you feel very tired, a pain will not go away or your performance drops for two weeks in a row, cut the volume or add a rest day.
Add a fourth day when you finish the three easily, your lifts are progressing slowly and you want more. Adding days just to add days doubles the fatigue without the result and may lead you to quit.
Two to three days is enough, with shorter sessions. See the Ramadan workout plan.
Yes as a minimum, with two full-body sessions. You may build muscle more slowly than with three days, but it is far better than nothing.
No need. Muscle grows during rest, and daily training tires a beginner and raises the risk of injury and dropping out.
For a beginner, full body three days a week is simpler and better. A split helps later if you want more size and have the time.
